We have some faculty updates to share! First, Redeen Literary Management revealed that Chronicle Books will publish President Squid, illustrated by Sara Varon of SVACE!  The book is available for pre-order at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Second, Joyce Wan shared advice on the Kidlit Summer School blog about ways to conclude a children’s book story.  Given all the attention she earned for The Whale in My Swimming Pool, her blog post is worth reading!

Finally, the astonishingly productive Steve Brodner published two great illustrations for this early election season.  He illustrated a story at Mother Jones about election ad tracking:  “As the race heats up, every device you own, from your laptop to your Apple Watch, will become a delivery vehicle for all manner of political messaging.”

Steve also roasted Donald Trump in this “hot air” portraitOFFICIAL-TRUMP-BALLOON700
